Bird News, November 2019

This month's Bird News is broadcast live from the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary with wildlife biologist  Mark Faherty and host Mindy Todd. Cold weather is here, and birds are coping thanks to their many special adaptations.

We also talk about cold stunned turtles with Bob Prescott, Director Emeritus of the Wellfeet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.  The stranding season has begun. If you find a turtle, call  the Hotline 508 349- 2615. Move the turtle to above the high tide line and cover it with seaweed. Mark the spot with some beach debris so the rescue team can find it. We also hear from Melissa Low, the new  Executive Director of the Wildlife Sanctuary. She updates us on recent enhancements to the Sanctuary.
