Landscaping for Resiliency

J. Junker

This past summer was the hottest on record for the Northern Hemisphere. We also saw tornadoes touch down on the Cape in July, and two significant wind events so far this fall. Not to mention a number of coastal flooding events. This is the new normal as we feel the impacts of a warming climate. On The Point, we focus on our home landscapes: how can we make our yards, gardens, and trees more resilient to extremes in weather?

Guests on this program are Russell Norton, Agriculture and Horticulture Extension Educator, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension; and Kristin Andres, Director of Education and Outreach at the Association to Preserve Cape Cod. Russ and Kristin will be giving workshops about Landscaping for Resiliency at the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Russ’s talk is All About Trees on Thursday, Nov. 7th,  and Kristin’s talk is about rainwater and runoff, scheduled for Thursday Nov. 14th.
